No. 1196 | Using ezVSP and CSW-H85K with multiple Windows users | 2013-06-16 | ||
---|---|---|---|---|
Dear Madams and Sirs, one of our customers uses you device CSW-H85K. He has multiple Windows users that all need to use the same virtual COM port. What we want to do is this: We have a medical cleaning device that is connected via RS232 serial cable to your converter. Then we configured the converter to have access to a hardware accesspoint at the PC. The access point is connected via LAN cable to the PC. On the PC we have your ezVSP4.0G running. There we create a virtual COM port and this is connected to our software application. Now we have the problem that if we set our application to a fixed COM port (e.g. COM1) we need that port reachable under every windows user. We now had the problem that one of our field staff installed a com port under one user (Admin) and the connection worked well. Then he changed the user, started ezVSP and the port was gone inside the software. He also wasn't able to select it again because it was already occupied by the other user. It was not selectable in the drop down list. We need to have access to the same virtual COM port from all user accounts. What do we have to do? Please answer us soonest because ur customer is expecting an answer at the beginning of next week. Thank you very much. Andreas Kubb |
