No. 1391 | Notification Email CIE-H12 | 2016-03-08 | ||
---|---|---|---|---|
Dear, The notification email option of the CIE-H12 does not work with the 2 major Internet providers in Belgium, due to the mismatch between the MX record returned by their DNS servers, and the required SMTP server: Both providers have a market share of more than 95% together. This issue make the CIE-H12 unusable in Belgium: 1/Provider Proximus MX record servers: mx101.skynet.be (195.238.22.25) and mx201.skynet.be (195.238.20.25). These server do NOT allow to send email. The required SMTP server is smtp.skynet.be (195.238.20.27) 2/Provider Telenet MX record servers: mx1.telenet-ops.be (195.130.132.8) and mx2.telenet-ops.be (195.130.132.9). The required SMTP server is smtp.telenet.be (195.130.132.11). The CIE-H12 shows one the MX servers, but no email can be send. Please provide the option in the CIE-H12 firmware to define the SMTP server by IP number. The port 25 is open on both networks, so this is NOT a request to implement any authentication or encryption on the CIE-H12. Please inform us about the expected implementation planning. The purpose is to use the CIE-H12 as a stand-alone controller. Modmap is not an alternative. Best Regards Frans |
